Rangers Drawn Against Borussia Dortmund – Rangers Football Club

RANGERS have been drawn to play German side Borussia Dortmund in the new, knockout play-off round of the UEFA Europa League.
The first leg will take place at the Westfalenstadion on 17 February, before the second leg at Ibrox on 24 February at Ibrox.
Dortmund finished third in their UEFA Champions League group, behind Ajax and Sporting Lisbon, and boast players such as Erling Haaland, Marco Reus and England’s Jude Bellingham in their side.
Gio Reyna is also a name who will be familiar to Rangers supporters – he is the son of former Ger Claudio and is named after his Ibrox teammate and current Light Blues manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The two sides last met in the UEFA Cup in 1999/00, where both van Bronckhorst and Reyna featured. A 2-0 win at Ibrox was overturned in the Rhineland, before the Germans progressed on penalties.
In all, the two have met competitively eight times – Gers have won three, there have been four draws while that 1999 second leg is the only time Dortmund have defeated the Light Blues.
